Hypertension/Diabetic/Thyroid Disorder / Heart Disease is a serious concern for some pregnant women.
Hypertension/Diabetic/Thyroid Disorder / Heart Disease during pregnancy isn’t always dangerous.
But it can sometimes cause severe health complications for both mother and developing baby. Women who had
Hypertension/Diabetic/Thyroid Disorder / Heart Disease before pregnancy are at higher risk for related
complications during pregnancy than those with normal health conditions. It can also have an effect on the
baby’s growth rate. This can result in low birth weight.
PLACENTA PREVIA
The placenta is a structure that develops inside your uterus during pregnancy, providing oxygen and nutrition
to and removing wastes from your baby. Placenta previa occurs when a baby’s placenta partially or totally covers
the mother’s cervix — the outlet for the uterus. Placenta previa can cause severe bleeding during pregnancy
and delivery. If you have placenta previa, you might bleed throughout your pregnancy and during your delivery.
TWINS OR MULTIPLE
A multiple pregnancy is when you are pregnant with twins, triplets or more. Multiple pregnancies occur when
more than one embryo implants in your uterus (womb). This can happen if you release more than one egg during
the menstrual cycle and each egg is fertilised by a sperm. Sometimes, a fertilised egg spontaneously splits into 2,
resulting in identical embryos. Multiple pregnancies are more common than they used to be, mainly because of
the increasing use of in vitro fertilisation (IVF).
